In previous years, we have run a media project, known as Warm Day Productions which allowed young people, aged 11-25, to plan, film and edit a vartiety of films for a variety of groups. In addition to this, we have also entered the Countryfile Photographic Competition for young people who had an interest in photography.

We are currently seeking funding to re-establish Warm Day Productions, our media project through the purchase of new and up-to-date equipment. We would like to be able to run a 'media session' weekly or fortnightly for young people, aged 11-25, to be able to plan, film and edit a film with the assistance of trained staff. We would also like to give young people the opportunity to participate in photography projects as well.

So, if you're interested in film making, using cameras, tripods and more, and you want to learn more, simply get involved at some of our sessions, such as Cafe Random and Young Leaders Group where you will be able to be involved in planning for such projects and are also able to get involved in other activities that we have to offer.

In previous years, we have worked on many projects with young people, including our local secondary school's school council service, Student Voice. For Student Voice, we made a promotional video for students at the school promoting what Student Voice could do for the school, for which students from Student Voice planned, scripted, acted, filmed and edited in. Other films we have produced include:

  • Residential activities that we have carried out in the past have all been filmed and a film produced by young people for them to be able to take away with them after the trip
  • Union videos around the closure of local authority youth services
  • Promotional videos for the services we had to offer at the time, such as Cafe Random

Many of our films can be viewed on our YouTube channel, here.
