Our latest programme for 2021 is our Outdoor and Sport project. The project will enable participants to spend time together in the great outdoors which will act as a conduit to deliver a range of activities in response to Coronavirus to improve physical health, personal wellbeing, social connections and outdoor skills.
These sessions will provide challenge and learning to participants and will be delivered at our wildlife garden and outdoor activity space as well as in the community and take account of given Covid guidelines at the time so we can ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
The aim of our project is to tackle loneliness and isolation as well as improve the health and wellbeing, particularly of those most affected by the pandemic. Other outcomes include teaching new skills, team work, and providing volunteering opportunities.
Activities will include; learning about the environment, scavenger hunts, healthy cooking, sports and outdoor games, bug hunts, outdoor art and up-cycling projects, fire lighting, healthy living and fitness, guided local walks and exploration, building bug hotels, crafts woodwork and carving, learning about vegetation and planting, outdoor cooking, & site management/conservation.
