In The Mix Project’s Team are based in Wiveliscombe, Somerset operating from our central base, The Hub Centre as well as our Log Cabin Outdoor Facility and in venues and spaces across the county.
Our team are made up of professional, qualified and experienced individuals. All with a varying knowledge that support youth and community work and practices making a formidable team. We are passionate about positive youth work delivery and the development, support to, and advancement of young people. We have a wide range of vocations, skills, experience and knowledge, which can be used to support young people and their communities.
Members of our staff team have played vital roles in the running and securing of local and regional services and projects for many years including youth voice and youth participation delivery and community development schemes. Our team have a strong track record of undertaking and delivering successful youth and community and social action projects.
Nick has been involved in the charity on and off since its inception in 2011, and is responsible for all our day to day operations and looks after the development side of the charity. Nick also delivers some of our services including our Duke of Edinburgh programme and outdoor learning offer. Nick’s background includes support to young carers, detached and rural youth work and residential experiences. If you’re interested in finding out more about our work, Nick is the one to talk too.

Jen runs Chime HR is our independent HR Director. Jen supports us with recruitment and staff management, managing grievance and disciplinaries, mapping changes to employment law and supporting staff wellbeing. Jen works with Nick to ensure the smooth running of our charity.

Russell deals with our payroll and HMRC activity via Mendip HR and Payroll and works with Nick to ensure the smooth running of our charity.

Ali has over 30 years experience in business administration and bookkeeping, combined with 3 years intensive bookkeeping training as part of a leading Accountancy company. She deals with our month to month finances and ensures our charity maintains its financial records and transactions.

Emma C is a newer member of our team and supports our 1:2:1 and alternative provision services. Emma is currently undertaking her level 2/3 youth work training. Emma has a passion for SEN support, running the HIVE youth group, and helps with our food resilience activities. Emma also supports some of our targeted youth projects and 1:2:1 services around education and employment.

Maia has previously supported our work through seasonal activity and craft provision. Maia now works for us part time, and supports our alternative provision services. You might see Maia at our youth clubs and holiday clubs.

Emma P started out as a volunteer supporting the charity’s youth programmes and fundraising efforts. Emma now has a paid role in the charity supporting our activities including; our holiday clubs, community fundraising, outreach sessions and volunteer engagement. Emma also leads our youth voice and participation work within The Core Network.

Matt joined us in Nov 2024 and is keen to learn more about supporting young people, Matt will be engaging in our various programmes with young people and in the community. Matt enjoys sports and is keen to support young people become more active.

Jem joined the team back in 2021 and has since gone on to run and deliver several of our programmes. Jem is a qualified youth worker with experience running various activities and aspects of youth work. Jem has recently taken a step back but continues to support our activities in a voluntary capacity.

Ashley’s involvement in the organisation started way back in 2017 as a volunteer, Ashley became more involved in the work of the charity within a paid capacity, as well as helping to shape the 2019 development plan. Ashley has gone on to now sit as a board member since 2020 and most recently the chair of the charity.

Molly initially came on board as a parent representative and her role has developed, using her skills as an educator to support around curriculum, policy and internal procedures.

Laurence joined our board in early 2025 and has found his role directly supporting the charity manager and helping with building and asset management and finance control.

Siobhan, the newest board member joining in 2025. Siobhan is looking forward at getting stuck into the organisation.
